Perinatal Therapy in Ontario

(Pregnancy & Postpartum Support)

What do you do when pregnancy or postpartum isn’t feeling the way you expected it to?

You might be experiencing complicated emotions, heightened anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and loneliness as you try to adapt to this major life transition. Body changes and expectations—from yourself or others—may cause turmoil or confusion, particularly in LGBTQIA+ families, including transgender parents who are pregnant or postpartum, and families formed through donor conception or adoption.

Fear, guilt, and uncertainty can feel overwhelming but hard to talk about, sometimes leading to ongoing stress or postpartum anxiety or depression.

How Perinatal Therapy Can Help

In perinatal therapy, we will work through the complexity of this stage, connect strengths and build compassion, and build supports for perinatal or post-partum anxiety, depression or OCD symptoms while acknowledging the importance of being seen, cared for, and respected.

With support, you can begin to make sense of what’s happening, respond to it differently, and feel more like yourself again.
