Managing Emotions
Do you find it difficult to manage the intensity of your emotions in the moment, leading to explosions of anger, despair, or frustration? Have you been told you’re “too sensitive”? Do you struggle to cope with situations that others seem to take in stride?
Many people struggle with managing their feelings, and all too often they are left with a deep sense of shame, helplessness, or loneliness. Past relationships may have been invalidating or traumatic, with few instances of feeling seen or heard.
In session, we may use Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems and parts work, psychodynamic, and/or self-compassion based approaches to develop a deeper understanding of who you are, explore what you need to feel safe, and discover together how to make the changes you want to see in your daily life and relationships.
